Use Audience Builder in the RevenueBase portal to find companies and the people who work at them. Start with your target audience, inspect the matches, and choose how many records to retrieve.

Credits and plans

On PAYG, a selected populated email adds 1 credit and a selected populated mobile adds 10 credits. SmartSearch adds 10 credits per filter node on a paid retrieval, rather than per record. Missing email or mobile values add no detail charge. For example, exporting 100 contacts with email selected, 80 populated emails, and no SmartSearch costs 180 credits. The portal shows an estimate before you confirm. See Credits & Plans for the complete pricing and reservation rules.

Build your first audience

Start with a specific audience, such as:
Heads of sales based in the United States, working at software companies with 50–200 employees.
  1. Open Audience Builder.
  2. Describe the audience in the chat and send your request. To build it manually, choose Edit filters.
  3. Open Edit filters to review the resulting conditions. Check the job title, company description, company size, and location separately.
  4. If you change the filters, choose Update audience, then inspect a few matches in Contacts and Companies.
  5. Adjust the filters until the results reflect your intended audience.
A written description is a starting point. The filters determine which records match, so review them when you change the prompt or add a new condition. Chat and the filter editor work on the same audience.

Understand the result views

Contact and company totals measure different things. One company may have many matching contacts. The rows visible in the grid are a preview, so they can be fewer than the total audience. If you only see companies, choose Contacts. Then check that your person filters describe the people you need.

Refine your filters

Use Exact search for known values, such as a country, company size, or a specific field value. Use Smart search to match meaning in a company description or job title. For example, a company may sell software to hospitals without using your exact phrase “healthcare software.” A description-based Smart search can find relevant businesses beyond that phrase. Review the results and add exact constraints where needed. Company lookalike uses seed company domains or RevenueBase organization IDs. Enter domains such as revenuebase.ai, rather than company names.

Adjust matching precision

Smart search offers Broad, Related, Similar, and Exact matching presets. Start broader when exploring a market. Tighten the match when adjacent industries or roles are getting in the way. The Exact Smart search preset is a precision setting for meaning-based matching. Use Exact search when you need a direct field constraint. See SmartSearch for how the matching presets work. If the results include the wrong industry, refine the company description, tighten the precision, and add an exact industry condition if it reflects your target.

Separate person location from company headquarters

Person location describes where a contact is based. Company headquarters describes the company’s location. A contact in Canada may work for a company headquartered in the United States. For the example above, apply United States to the person’s location. Add a company headquarters condition only if you also want the employer to be based there.

Combine conditions with AND, OR, and groups

  • AND requires every condition in the group to match.
  • OR requires at least one condition in the group to match.
  • Group lets you combine alternatives while keeping other requirements in place.
For example, use a title group of “Head of Sales OR VP of Sales,” then combine it with “person based in the United States” using AND. Putting the location inside the OR group would allow it to match on its own.

Match a list you already have

Open Edit filters → Match your data when you already know which people or companies you want to find. You can also use the Enrich your data plus button in the chat.
  1. Choose the matching option for your identifiers.
  2. Paste your list or upload a file using that option’s input controls. Follow the template and size limit shown there.
  3. Review the matched contacts or companies. Remove extra spaces and check that each input has the expected format if matches are missing.
  4. Choose the fields you need and review the retrieval cost before exporting.
Email enrich accepts a CSV with an Email, email_address, or business_email column, regardless of capitalization. It skips blank rows, invalid email cells, and duplicate addresses. Use domains for domain matching and full LinkedIn profile or company URLs for URL matching. Multiple contacts can belong to one company, so a domain list and a contact list need not produce the same number of rows.
Enrichment finds RevenueBase records and adds their available fields. To check whether email addresses are deliverable, use Email Verifier.

Understand previews

On PAYG and trial accounts, contact browsing uses a free masked sample. Availability indicators show whether an email or mobile exists without revealing the value. A masked field is different from a missing field. Unlimited accounts can retrieve full contact records under their plan. The preview size and export limits shown in the portal still apply. A preview is a way to inspect the audience; it does not mean every matching record is already on screen.

Save and reopen an audience

  1. Build the filters you want to keep.
  2. Open Save audience and choose Save. Give a new audience a name when prompted.
  3. Open Audiences to find and reload it later.
  4. Use Save As… to keep a separate version of an audience.
A saved audience keeps the search configuration so you can run it again. An exported CSV is a file of the records retrieved by that export. Saving an audience does not purchase its results or freeze the underlying dataset. Private audiences stay private unless explicitly shared. An Admin role alone does not make a colleague’s private work visible.

Export records

  1. Check the Contacts or Companies view and choose the columns you want in the CSV.
  2. Open Export. Choose selected rows, the preview, or a larger set of matches from the options available to your account.
  3. For contacts, choose whether to include available emails, mobile numbers, or both. On PAYG, these choices affect the cost.
  4. Set the record count or budget in the export controls. Review the estimate and the credits required to start.
  5. Confirm the export. Larger exports run in the background.
  6. Open Notifications, the bell at the top right, to download the completed file.
The displayed export limit may cap a larger audience. Check the final row count before starting. If you need more than your current limit, contact support@revenuebase.ai.

Understand reserved credits

An estimate is a forecast. A paid export can reserve enough credits for every selected detail to be populated, so the credits required to start can be higher than the estimate. When the job finishes, it charges for the actual records and selected populated details, plus any SmartSearch fee, and releases unused reserved credits. If you cannot start an export, reduce the number of records or the selected details. An admin can also add organization credits or adjust your monthly limit. Starting a new export can charge again; reopen the existing completed file when you just need another download.

Send an audience to HubSpot

HubSpot export is available to eligible Unlimited accounts when the integration is configured. Open Export in Audience Builder. If you see Connect HubSpot, follow that connection flow. Once connected, choose Export to HubSpot and review the selected records before sending them. If you cannot see the option, check your plan and ask your admin or RevenueBase support about integration availability. An admin manages connection configuration; Members can use an already-configured integration where their access allows it.
